It’s wild to think about how far God has brought me. When I think about the goodest that has manifested in my journey I am just amazed. As I sat and thought about the grace and favor God has poured over me time after time there’s just a pure humblest that radiates. You see, there’s no limit to how far God will go to love us. In the midst of destruction and chaos there can be a long lasting impartation of peace. A peace that was designed to weather the storm. A peace that was created to overcome fear.
As I drove yesterday, I was overtaken but the loving care God has shown. In times when I felt undeserving. In moments that I counted myself out. God raised me up to walk in the unbreakable grace. I thought to myself, "WOW, what a piece of heaven."
Have you ever felt like you just can’t go on any longer? Or accepted the situation for what it is instead of agreeing with God’s purpose in the situation. Have you ever allowed the circumstances to override what God had already spoken to you and for you?
This is not the time to grant fear permission to dictate what’s next for your life. You haven’t been brought this far to say, “I can’t go any further or I can’t take any more.”
See, now is the time to stand up right in the faith and the belief that without a shadow of a doubt God will provide. God will execute. This isn’t the time to try and walk in God’s shoes and perform. This is the time to get out of the way and allow God to work.
We have gotten too comfortable trying to play God’s role. We’re doing things that we have no business doing because we’re confused by our job description. We are to partner with God, not to act as if we are God. As we try to perpetuate God’s power into a situation we are just creating more distance.
Some of us are in the wrong position. We can’t play God’s position! I don’t know about you but I know my role. I grew up playing on teams. I understand the importance of team ball.
For example when I played softball, I played second base and when a ball was hit to me I had an expectation that one of my teammates was going to be at first base to catch it and get the out. See I knew the importance of team play. When I’m cooking at home I have an expectation the oven is going to play its position to help cook the food.
So why when it comes to our relationship with God we think we can play every role and expect miracles. We want God to show up in our lives but God doesn’t have an open position on the team.
We can not expect God to show up and not have a position on the team.
God is not a bench player!
God has to be the superstar on our team. With being the superstar on the team comes responsibilities. The responsibility of leadership. Every great superstar knows all of the positions on the team. The superstar also helps with coaching and teaching. The superstar creates standards and holds accountability as a priority. Take LeBron James for instance, he’s one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He has been able to accomplish and excel in his craft because he understands how to play with a team. He knows you can’t pass himself the ball and shoot it at the sametime.
So, as I sit with great gratitude on how far God has brought me I am reminded to play my position. In order for greatness to continue to manifest and for our team to keep winning I must continuously ask myself if God has a position on my team today. This is not a one man show!
In order to live in abundance one must clearly know the distinction of roles and functions. God doesn’t want to be on the sideline watching you lose. God wants to be the superstar on your team and celebrate the wins with you! I guarantee that when you move into your position, life as you know it will change. That pressure to get it all done will go away. The burden to make everyone happy will no longer be. The pain from disappointment will vanish.
And believe me when I say it, you will feel refreshed!
